A Commitment to Quality and Community Service
Legacy Home Healthcare has a commitment to improving the quality
of its services in order to build trust with the community it
serves.
Oversight of Operations
A Professional Advisory Group meets on a quarterly basis to perform
oversight regarding the efficiency and adequacy of operations at Legacy.
They also make determinations on the ethical behavior of the agency
and its employees. Its members comprise of medical professionals and
paraprofessionals (MD, PT, RN, CNA), as well as individuals that
represent the communities we serve. Their actions and findings are
reportable to the Illinois Department of Public Health and the
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Illinois Foundation for Quality Healthcare
We participate in Illinois Foundation for Quality Healthcare (IFQHC)
improvement lessons and recorded web sessions to help improve patient
care. IFQHC is funded by CMS to serve as the Quality Improvement
Organization for the state of Illinois. Some of the things they do
include the following:
-
Assist healthcare providers in hospitals, physician offices,
nursing homes, and home health agencies with their quality
improvement efforts by spreading clinically tested "best practice"
health care strategies and providing free training;
-
Educate Medicare beneficiaries on the importance of preventive health
care and their health care rights and responsibilities;
-
Promote publicly reported quality of care information about Illinois
health care providers in order to educate beneficiaries and spur
quality improvement efforts; and
-
Respond to Medicare beneficiaries' concerns about the quality of
care they receive, and conduct case reviews to determine if services
provided are medically necessary, appropriate, and meet professionally
recognized standards of care.
Giving Back to the Community
Legacy Home Healthcare collaborates with local not-for-profit
organizations that address the needs of the elderly in our surrounding
communities. We also participate in local health fairs, provide event speakers,
and donate to various charities and events.
